Forsaken World - F2PMeter headlogo - EN

Our F2Pmeter is back! This time we’ll put Forsaken World to the test.

Developed by Perfect World Entertainment Forsaken world is a fantasy themed free to play MMORPG that combines elements of both western and eastern culture to create a dark fantasy set in the lands of Eyrda. Players are able to choose between six unique races and nine different classes, as well as taking advantage of over ten different occupations in their battle versus the malign forces that threaten the world. With a number of features including hardcore PvP, advanced guild options and dynamic dungeons, Forsaken World is a well-rounded feature packed MMORPG.

Remember that games start with a 100% of free-to-play-ness, and that % will vary depending on the answers to the questions.

EN - Question 1

  • No. Players are able to register their own account and download the game for free without spending a penny.

EN - Question 2

  • No. There are no subscription options for the game, it was launched as free to play and has continued with the same business model.

EN - Question 3

  • No. Currently any updates and game expansion are provided for free, with no indication that this will change.

EN - Question 4

  • Yes. -5%. There is an accessible in game store where players can purchase items with the Perfect World Entertainment Zen premium currency, which is purchased using real world cash. In the Zen Market there are numerous vanity items that can be purchased as well as convenience items to enhance a players experience, including unique companions, XP boosts and clothing/cosmetic items and additional features such as extra character and bank slots.

EN - Question 5

  • No (but...). -5%. Whilst the majority of the items are convenience or aesthetic, there are a number of epic/purple items that can be purchased with Zen, in comparison to players trying to earn these same items through gameplay the amount of farming for gold that may be needed and the time it takes to do so does generally give paying players a default edge in comparison to F2P players.

EN - Question 6

  • No. There are no extra functions for UI customization that are available by spending money.

EN - Question 7

  • Yes. All races and classes are completely free to play from initial character creation and do not require any payments to unlock them.

EN - Question 8

  • No. Players can only bid on items in the auction house if they have a free slot in their inventory and so with the amount of item acquisition players go through some may find that they inevitably have to pay to unlock further Inventory or Bank Slots if they wish to use the Auction House more.

EN - Question 9

  • Yes ― -10%. Inventory is limited on initial accounts and players will more than likely have to pay to gain access to more if they wish to carry an optimal amount of items.

EN - Question 10

  • Yes. All areas, dungeons and zones can be freely accessed by free to play players.

EN - Question 11

  • No. All end game content is provided for free to F2P players without restriction.

EN - Question 12

  • Yes. +10%. Whilst there are elements of “pay to win” using the dash shop it is only marginal in comparison to other games and the vast majority of content is provided for free and very much accessible to free to play accounts. The game is, in places, made a little inconvenient and so forces players a little heavily to spend cash (eg. buying inventory space), however PvP is pretty much dominated by those players who have invested lots of real world cash into the game, and so providing players are fine being more casual in their gameplay experience they can enjoy Forsaken World without spending a penny.

Forsaken World gets a 90% in our test!
