Robocraft Releases Fast and Formidable Expansion

Robocraft - news

The popular free-to-play robot building and battling game Robocraft has received its third major expansion of the year today, titled ‘Fast and Formidable’. The update fundamentally overhauls the progression and matchmaking systems in Robocraft by granting all players 2000 CPU from level one and adds a newly balanced combat system which allows matches to be populated by robots of all different shapes, sizes and capabilities for the first time.

For a complete summary of all the changes coming to Robocraft with this expansion, see below:

- Overhauled Combat and Building: To accommodate the new CPU limit, new combat rules are in effect to encourage more role-based teamplay in matches. High CPU robots now have more armour, but have less energy to utilise weaponry or modules, whereas low CPU robots are weaker but faster and have more energy to use weapons longer. A multitude of speed increases, weight tweaks and armour buffs have also been applied to make building more intuitive and more strategically nuanced.

- New Vanguard’s End Map: Fight in and around the giant fallen battleship the ESS Vanguard in a new map for the 8 vs 8 Battle Arena game mode.

- 2000 CPU for all: All Robocraft players, regardless of player level, now have 2000 CPU available when creating robots. Formerly this limit was 1500 CPU. CPU governs the number of components such as weapons, travel options, armour and cubes which can be added to a robot, so now players have more options available to them than ever before.

- 10,000 Player Levels: After every battle players are rewarded XP to level up their account. Formerly this level capped out at 150, but now Freejam have boosted that number to 10,000. On every level up, users are rewarded with a Protonium Salvage Crate full of weapons, cosmetics and/or modules to build new robots or refine existing creations.

- New Weapon Energy Module: This legendary combat module offers players an option to instantly replenish their in-game energy every two minutes, which allows high energy weapons to be fired longer and modules to be activated more often.
