The US-based game developer Mythyn Interactive has disclosed today that its sandbox MMORPG Linkrealms will become fully free-to-play on October 10th, 2016.
After the update, players will be able to create an account on the Linkrealms website or add the game to their Steam library for free. Doing so will grant them get access to the full range of skills, locations and events the game has to offer.
The pivotal decision has been taken as Mythyn Interactive has judged that Linkrealms is finally ready to welcome a larger userbase. This is to be credited to the recent introduction of the criminal and newcomer protection systems, the revision of combat balancing and the improvement of server stability.
Mythyn Interactive has also announced that Linkrealms is soon going to receive a substantial upgrade to its profession and questing systems.
After the recently introduced overhaul on crafting mechanics, the much awaited Mining and Blacksmithing skills are scheduled to become fully operative around the same day the game is set to embrace the free-to-play model. The two new skills will be associated with new game locations and events, plus tenths of new ores, metals and sets of heavy armor.
Within the upcoming expansion, game quests have also been entirely rewritten and increased in number to better teach the basics of the game to new players and to give more depth to the lore of the world – a side of Linkrealms slightly overlooked so far.
