How Free-to-Play is Grepolis?

In Grepolis, players find themselves as the ruler of their own Greek town/polis. Free to play, the game focuses on players gathering resources, learning techs, building up their city and fielding an army of troops and creatures from ancient Greek mythology. Starting out at 100% free, after asking a variety of questions and, losing points with seemingly more premium options, we’ll see how free the game really is.
