Call of War has more units than its predecessor, and each of them has different and unique properties which allows players to develop their Nations to use different strategies, either increasing the firepower of their armored vehicles to specializing in naval combat or even to build nuclear missiles.

The units can be equipped with different types of armor, which will have different advantages or weaknesses against other types of armor. For example, large battleships are very weak against submarine attacks.

Bytro Labs has also improved the air combat, including specialized planes for offensive and defensive missions, in addition to new features, such as flying to far-away destinations with intermediate landings.

The provinces also have a greater role, because they make economic systems much more interesting. The game features two types of provinces, core and non-core, and the production of resources only happens in certain urban areas and provinces. In addition, only some provinces provide victory points, whose amount depends on their importance.
