For those that play Planetside 2 they will already know about the Alert system, a dynamic server-controlled event that activates randomly at different times sending out an announcement to everyone on the server to try and perform a singular objective typically resulting in a huge three way battle between the games’ opposing factions. Whilst the Alert is active everyone online earns XP based off their own factions’ fighting performance and so incentives all players to get involved to capitalize on this, as well as granting an additional 30% XP boost to everyone in the nearby vicinity. The Alerts are not only fun but are also extremely rewarding for players looking to level up, however as they are random and only last 2 hours they are easily missed.

Well players no longer need to miss the fights and the XP boosts that go with them with a brand new app that has been launched this week on the Apple Store and Google Play (you can donwload de iOS version HERE and the Android versión HERE), the appropriately titles “PS2 Alerts App for PlanetSide 2” puts these server Alert statuses into one convenient app on your phone. With a full roster of servers players can check out to see which servers have Alerts active at a glance and exactly how long they have been going for, or they can individually subscribe to the servers that they play on and let the app run in the background to receive a text notification that all hell is breaking loose!

A handy little feature of the app has two sliders to choose a start and finish time to manually create a notification in which you are happy receiving your alerts so that they aren’t alerting you at inconvenient times when you can’t get in game. The app can be used by both PlayStation 4 and PC users alike and has never made reaping your sweet sweet experience points so simple.
