World of Warcraft has announced the release of its italian language version

Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. has announced that it is in the process to create a fully localized Italian version of World of Warcraft. Upon its release later this year, the Italian players will be able to download the language pack for free, while new players will be able to purchase the Italian version digitally and at retail.
This will be the eleventh officially supported language and the seventh supported language in Europe, following English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.

In addition, Italian players will benefit from Blizzard Entertainment’s 24/7 Europe-based customer service in Italian, including in-game support as well as phone and web support. The World of Warcraft community site and forums will also be offered in Italian, and World of Warcraft realms dedicated to the Italian community will be made available to all European players.

One of our primary goals for World of Warcraft is to make sure it’s accessible to as wide an audience as possible around the world,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “With the upcoming Italian localization, we’re pleased that we’ll be able to provide a customized version of the game - as well as customer service and the community website - for Italian-speaking players. We also look forward to welcoming Italian speakers throughout Europe who will be trying World of Warcraft for the first time.
