With Steel Generals, War Thunder today receives Update 1.45, which introduces a plethora of brand-new as well as enhanced features, ranging from overhauled Artillery Strikes and a tow cable system to an enhanced damage model, new aircraft and armoured vehicles and brand-new maps.

The major addition included in Update 1.45, however, is the beta of the Steel Generals expansion that introduces the first 6 American tanks. By the end of March 2015, players are promised to habe access to over 30 US WWII tanks.
