With Delta Rising, Perfect World has just announced the 2nd expansion for Star Trek Online, which is scheduled for this autumn and will introduce the Delta Quadrant, new species, a new level cap and more.
Set 30 years following the events of Star Trek: Voyager, Delta Rising will allow players to explore the dangerous unknowns of the Delta Quadrant via a portal discovered in the Dyson Sphere, which provides a shortcut to the galaxy region the U.S.S. Voyager mapped decades earlier.
The expansion will also raise the level cap to 60, which will be the first level cap increase in 4 years, allowing players to acquire an entirely new tier of ships, gear and officers when levelling their captains past level 50.
Moreover, players will meet familiar species from the Star Trek franchise such as the Kazon, Ocampans and Talaxians as they explore the new quadrant.
In keeping with Cryptic Studio’s efforts to capture the essence of the Star Trek franchise, Delta Rising will furthermore have Garrett Wang reprise his role as Harry Kim, adding another celebrity actor’s performance to the existing cast of the game.
