Bandai Namco just has announced an a new franchise, Rise of Incarnates, which will deliver a new free-to-play PC fighting title scheduled for launch in the 2nd half of 2014.

For this project, Bandai Namco has brought together the developing teams of Tekken, SoulCalibur, and Gundam Extreme VS to bring to life an MMO that offers innovative 2 vs. 2 gameplay, a variety of characters and roles as well as accurately rendered real-world cityscape battlegrounds.

"Rise of Incarnates represents BANDAI NAMCO’s future in the Free-to-Play gaming landscape," said Herve Hoerdt, Vice President of IP Strategy, Marketing & PR at BANDAI NAMCO Games Europe. "Building a new IP from scratch with such a brilliant dev. team is an exciting challenge for everyone at BANDAI NAMCO Games. We are aiming for a long and sustained development for this exhilarating and fresh brand!"

The game's diversity of character types and roles will provide players with unique skills and powers and various play style options while accommodating expansive team dynamics and strategy. They will employ sharp reflexes, mental resolve, and strategic insight as they run, jump, and fly through 3D arenas, engaging in both close-quarters combat and long-range assaults.

Slipping into the role of "Incarnates", players will command untold mythical powers as they try to reshape the course of their world. Due to their special abilities, they will feared and at the same time loathed by the general population and persecuted by the authorities that want to use their power for their own vile plot. One day, a mysterious voice tasks them to destroy the "Sovereign of this era", whereupon the battle for dominance amongst Incarnates begins and the fate of life on Earth hangs in the balance.
