Do micro-transactions give advantages in any way?

'Yes (but...)' -10%

Gold gives players a major advantage if they are willing to spend a lot of money, which many players are, enabling them to get way ahead of their rivals and take a substantial early lead, or solidify a natural lead later game. Whilst strategy plays a key part to the game, and someone with a lot of gold won’t necessarily win, on an even playing field with players who know what they are doing then Gold can provide an overwhelming advantage.

'Yes (but...)' -10%

'No'

There is no high-end content in the game.
Can you fully enjoy the game without paying a single 'penny'?

'Yes (but...)'

The game has a lot to offer for players that enjoy long game strategies where planning and tactical thinking come at the expense of lacking action packed combat. Games are limited to a set number of players, and a lot of players do use Gold so there’s generally a disadvantage. However, there are some groups that have set up their own “gold free” games that players may be interested in checking out, ensuring skill over the size of your wallet is what counts.
