Reto-Moto has just released the major content update "Patton" for their free-to-play MMO Heroes & Generals, which adds multiple new tank models, new weapons, items and upgrades for the vehicles, a personal vehicle loadout and also introduces a new mechanism for spotting enemies.



"This is the largest and most ambitious update we have made for Heroes & Generals since we went into open beta last year," told Jacob Andersen, Game Director at Reto-Moto "The community has been screaming out for more tanks, so it feels fantastic to double the amount with the Patton update."

The 9 newly added tanks expand the game's arsenal to a total of 15 tanks in addition to 3 tank-destroyers and 12 other vehicles players also have access to which range from fighter planes, reconnaissance vehicles, off-road cars and half-tracks to motorcycles and even bikes.

The new personal vehicle loadouts allow all characters to have their own set of upgradeable vehicles, which are off-road cars, motorcycles and half-tracks for infantry, motorcycles and armoured reconnaissance vehicles for recon soldiers and naturally tanks and tank destroyers for tank crews while fighter pilots of course have access fighter planes.

"By introducing personal vehicle loadouts, where characters can own and upgrade the vehicles of their choice, and at the same time offer players to play as infantry, tanker, pilot and even as a General commanding the troops, I believe that we have something very unique compared to other online wargames," added Andersen.

The Patton update also adds 2 new weapons, the US M3 'Grease Gun' and the German MP-34, as entry level submachine guns as well as anti-tank- and supply crates as available upgrades for the vehicles and supporting infantry. More kinds of upgrades such as camouflage, engine upgrades, different types of tank tracks, and special ammunition will be introduced with future updates.

Furthermore, a new mechanism for spotting enemies has also been implemeted with this update as well as a new introductory flow for new players to ease their way into the game. When characters rise in rank or earn ribbons based on their actions in the game, the unlock access to vehicles and weapons. In order accelerate this process, players are able to buy Ribbon Boosters enabling them to progress and unlock equipment and vehicles faster.
