XL Games have just announced planes to soon begin the first closed beta testing of Civilization Online and also released brand new gameplay footage in this context.

For those among you who haven't heard much about Civilization Online before, this unique MMO tasks players to jointly work towards building a civilization and developing it throughout the ages from Stone Age to Space Age.
