From what we were able to glean, a next-gen console edition of APB Reloaded is under development by veteran studio The Workshop Entertainment. The title's launch on Xbox and PS4 is planned for late Q2 2015 and just as the F2P PC version the console version will be free to download and free to play as well (only requiring an Xbox Live Gold membership).
The console edition of APB Reloaded will allow players to earn items within game for free, as well as providing them with the opportunity to buy in-game items, gear, vehicles and customisations for their characters in order to specialise in a particular style of play.
"APB Reloaded has become a phenomenon on the PC with a very passionate and faithful community," told Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver/ Koch Media GmbH. "We are really thrilled to help Reloaded Games and The Workshop bring this fantastic world to life on the new generation consoles."
And Peter Akemann, CEO of The Workshop, added: "On a technical note, because APB is such a technically complex game, featuring thousands of destructible objects and heavily customized players and vehicles in every scene, we are thrilled to help make APB a reality on these brand new high performance hardware platforms."
Thrust into the urban cityscape of San Paro set in the near future, APB Reloaded players must decide for one of two factions: "Criminals" to cause maximum chaos throughout the city or "Enforcers" to uphold the city’s martial law. In comparison with other modern MMOs, the game boasts one of best and the most extensive systems for customising characters and vehicles. Driven by player vs. player interactions, APB Reloaded supports up 50 vs. 50 real-time missions across the city of San Paro
